Pilgrimage 2021: You’re invited to join with Co. of St. René Goupîl apostolate
You’ve come to the right place.
You are most welcome to make pilgrimage, and I encourage you to pray to discern whether to do so with the jocular members the Company of St. René Goupîl apostolate.
The Company was founded now 23 years ago by the late, much-beloved ‘Uncle’ Bob Murray & ‘Cuz’n’ Robert Lamanque, and their friends in 1998 to provide material assistance to fellow-pilgrims.
Members of the Company exercise charity in imitation of saint & martyr René Goupîl, offering their services voluntarily as works of mercy, both spiritual and corporal, according to the motto of the Society of Jesus – ad majorem Dei gloriam, “to the greater glory of God”.
The Company has developed since its first days, and is now comprised of two “departments”.
- The I. Dept. consisting of three teams to make all material preparations for the celebration of the sacred liturgies on pilgrimage.
- And the II. Dept., consisting of nine teams to assist pilgrims meet the many logistical needs en route.
The Company’s part & place in the organization of pilgrimage is shown on this schematic.
Application to the CSRG is required of all aspiring & returning members of the Company. In addition, registration for the Pilgrimage is also required members of the CSRG — as it is for all pilgrims.
Father Joseph Favole, Chaplain of the Company, asks all aspiring pilgrims to offer the three-line prayer of St. Nicholas of Flüe every day until pilgrimage.
Father also invites prospective recruits to read & reflect on the stirring account of the martyrdom of our Blessed Patron as told by his spiritual Father, St. Isaac Jogues.
Please call on Paul Audino, Vice-Director for the CSRG, if you are unsure whom to contact or if you have questions the officers (named in the posts linked above) cannot answer.
